CVS

When I first heard of CVS I was like what- no you can't save money there. Well I have changed my mind about that that's for sure! I save most of my money shopping at CVS. So if you are new to shopping there maybe these helpful tips with help you!

Get an Extra Care Card!

You will need this card to get the sales for that week and to get your ECB's.You can do this in the store or you can get one online and print one off until you get the one mailed to you. After getting the card go to CVS. There is an Extra Care Button at the top of the screen, click on it and make sure you sign up for e-mail alerts!Within a couple of days you should receive a coupon via e-mail. The coupon is normally $4 off your next purchase of $20 or more.

ECB's- yes that scared me at first too!

ECB's are simply Extra Care Bucks and can be confusing at first but its really easy to understand them.
CVS' weekly ad's will list a view items where it says something along the lines of  this:
Relvon Top Speed Nail Care: $3.99- $3.00 ECB's so its like paying $0.99 for it!  If you were to purchase something with ECB's it will print at the bottom of your receipt and you can use it towards your not purchase.  Keep up with your ECB's like they are real money- because in reality they are! One thing to know is that the ECB's can only be used on the Extra Care Card they were received on.

Another way to get ECB's is by the Go Green Program at CVS. They sell green bag tags for $0.99 ( I have found these at the register) Each time you use a reusable bag they will scan it your tag. After the tag has been scanned four times you will receive $1.00 ECB :)

Using Coupons at CVS

You can use manufacture coupons and CVS store coupons! Where do you find the CVS coupons? Sometimes there will be brochures at the store with coupons in them, sometimes coupons will be printed off on your receipt but my favorite of all is the Coupon Scanner! That is where I go first when I go into the store.
CVS's coupon policy states that one manufacture coupon and one store coupon can be used on the same item- EXTRA SAVINGS!

Numerous Transcations

I have had people ask me is it worth it to do numerous transactions? Well here is an example and I will let you answer that question for yourself because honestly it all depends on you.

Say the week you go shopping there is alot of deals where you can get ECB's you can do this:

Dial NutriSystem Lotion- $4.99 get $4.00 ECB's
Relvon Top Speed Nail Polish- $3.99 get $3.00 ECB's
Theraflu Daytime - $0.99 get $0.99 ECB's
If you did this in all of one transaction your total would be around - $9.97 but you would get back $7.99 in ECB's

So in all you would pay out of pocket $9.97 but have $7.99 in ECB's for your next purchase.

But if you did it in numerous transactions this is how it would work.

Dial NutriSystem Lotion- $4.99
out of pocket $0.99 but get back $4.00 ECB's

Relvon Top Speed Nail Polish- $3.99
use your $4.00 ECB's
out of pocket -nothing! but get back $3.00 ECB's

Theraflu Daytime - $0.99
Throw in a couple of items that will make your total around $3.00
use your $3.00 ECB's
out of pocket- nothing! but get back $0.99 ECB's

NOTE: Theses transaction details do not have tax included!
So in all you would only pay out $0.99 and have only $0.99 ECB's left for your next purchase. In my case, I try to pay the least I can out of pocket. If that means I have to do a million transactions thats okay just be sure to make sure no one is behind you and if they are be nice and go to the back of the line! Also if you had a coupon for any of these items you would save more and it could possibly be a money maker and who doesn't like making money while shopping- even if it is only a few cents here and there!
